[Children align themselves into neat rows, as they were taught by their parents and the teachers of their home town. A few that have embraced the joy of chaos plop down at any free space on the floor or sit on a chair that would have earned a reprimand from a respected adult.

Taryon slides his chair to the back of the group: the sole member of the Adult Section of the theater. Astarion was right. The whole show is going to be a surprise, and whether it will put Taryon is danger isn't all that likely, unless Astarion requires a volunteer to throw daggers at.

He wouldn't do that, right?

Like the children, Taryon is transfixed by the glint of the metal as it weaves through his fingers. His mouth drops as it flies into the air and he blinks just as it's about to fall into Astarion's hand. A flash of a thought: what if he's called upon to to heal a sliced finger?

He catches it instead. The children cry out in amazement and applaud at this good show.]
